Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's tennis team defeated the Valiants of Manhattanville College, 5-4 today at the Athletic Center to improve to 6-5 overall on the year. The Roadrunners took only one doubles match-up, but fought back to earn points in four of the six singles match-ups, to earn the one point victory over Manhattanville, one of the top teams in the Freedom Conference this season.  Manhattanville falls to 7-4 overall.

Matthew Soos (Barnegat, NJ) and Paul Baluyut (Paramus, NJ) paired up at third doubles and dropped the Manhattanville pair, 8-3, earning the lone victory in doubles match-ups for the Roadrunners, 8-3.

Soos recorded a singles win in the 6th spot dropping Guillermo Turull, 6-1, 6-0 to go 2-0 on the day.  The Roadrunners fell short in the 1st and 2nd singles spots but Joe Marino (Goshen, NY) recorded a 6-3, 6-3 win at 3rd singles and Keith Dobrin (Tinton Falls, NJ) followed with a 6-2, 6-3 win in the 3rd spot, tying the match at four points each.  Jared Rochman (Oakland, NJ) rounded out the Roadrunners top performers defeating Gabe Mallen, 6-3, 6-4 at 5th singles, helping his team to the 5-4 victory in Mahwah.

Ramapo returns to action on Friday, April 11th when they take on Rutgers Newark at 5:00 PM at the Athletic Center.
