Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's tennis team defeated the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark University today at the Athletic Center, 9-0. With the win the Roadrunners improve 7-5 overall and their fourth straight victory while the Scarlet Raiders fall to 3-2.
Rookie
Prasanna Fernando (Wood-Ridge, NJ) defeated Kevin Santos, 6-3, 6-3 at first singles before sophomore
Allen Kats (Montville, NJ) posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles. Senior
Joe Marino (Goshen, NY) won at third singles, 6-2 and 6-2 before junior
Keith Dobrin (Tinton Falls, NJ) picked up a point for Ramapo at fourth singles, 6-1 and 7-5. Senior
Jared Rochman (Oakland, NJ) and sophomore
Matt Soos (Barnegat, NJ) posted wins at fifth and sixth singles respectively.
Fernando and Soos teamed up at first doubles, posting at 8-5 victory over Kevin Santos and Lam Nguyen. Rochman and Dobrin would defeat Priyen Patel and Baris Sonmez, 8-2 before
Paul Baluyut (Paramus, NJ) and
Matt Cacciaguida (Hampton, NJ) deafeated the doubles team of Mario Bodoy and Matt Milwicz, 8-2 for Ramapo's final point of the match.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host Fairleigh Dickinson College-Florham on April 14, 2008 at 4:00 PM.
