ROWAN SHUTS OUT RAMAPO, 4-0 IN NJAC GAME

GLASSBORO, NJ – Left hander Ryan Kulik pitched a complete game and recorded 14 strikeouts in Rowan University's 4-0 conference win against Ramapo College on Thursday.

Kulik (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) only allowed four hits in his second shutout on the year. At the beginning of the season, he tied the school record with 15 strikeouts against Alvernia College. In nine starts, Kulik has a 6-2 record.

Third baseman Paul Urbanovich (sr. Rutherford, NJ/St. Peter's Prep) led the Profs with three hits (four at bats), one RBI and one run scored. First baseman Tom Ready (jr. Blenheim, NJ/Triton Reg.) contributed with two RBIs and shortstop David Lenig (so. Pennsville, NJ/Pennsville) had one. Second baseman Joe Franceschini (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.), pinch runner Roger Turley (sr. Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) and center fielder Garrett Mull (jr. Chatsworth, NJ/Lenape) each scored one run.

The Profs are 19-8 overall and 5-4 in the conference. The Roadrunners have a 12-13 record with a 1-6 NJAC mark. In the first meeting this season, Rowan won 4-3 at Ramapo.

Right hander Chris Stanisce (sr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) took the loss for Ramapo. Stanisce
(0-1) pitched 6.1 innings and had five strikeouts. Catcher John Callandrello (jr. Montville, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) went two for three. Designated hitter Ryan Paxton (sr. Long Valley, NJ/W. Morris Central) and shortstop Joey Cacchiola (so. Union, NJ/Union) each had a hit.

Rowan got on the scoreboard with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Urbanovich singled in Mull who had reached base with a walk. Mull stole second and went to third on an error. Ready had a single up the middle that scored Franceschini and Urbanovich. The Profs' final run came in the seventh. Lenig's single to right field brought home Turley.

Rowan travels to New Jersey City University on Saturday, April 12 for a noon conference doubleheader. Ramapo is back in action tomorrow as they host NJAC foe the College of NJ at 3:30 PM.
