New Port News, VA:  The Ramapo College baseball team opened up the 2008 season on the road at Christopher Newport University this past weekend. On Friday the Roadrunners fell to the Captains, 16-2. 

Junior Gino Gallagher (Cedar Grove, NJ) singled to left field in the third inning and stole second before senior Ryan Paxton (Long Valley, NJ) singled to left field to pick up the RBI. Senior Justin Rabinowitz (Martinsville, NJ) knocked in sophomore Joey Cacchiola (Union, NJ) in the fourth inning on a single to left field.

Ramapo fell to North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday 15-2 before going up against Spalding University on Sunday.

The Roadrunners picked up their first win of the 2008 season against the Golden Eagles 10-4. Rookie John McDonough (Cranford, NJ) picked up the win with five shutout innings and four strikeouts.

Ramapo returns to action on March 8th, 2008 against Whittenberg in Orlando, Florida at 1:30 PM.
