Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team fell, in their second meet of the 2008-2009 season, and their first meet in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, 111-72 to the Lions of the College of New Jersey today at the Bradley Center. With the loss the Roadrunners falls to 0-2 overall, and 0-1 in the conference while TCNJ improves to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Rookie
Terry Hubert (Howell, NJ) placed second overall in the 50-yard freestyle and third overall in the 100-yard freestyle clocking in at 23.24 and 51.87 respectively. In the 100-yard butterfly, sophomore
Ben Farhi (Hackensack, NJ) earned a second place ribbon of his own in 1:02.96 while
Mike Waterhouse (Eastampton, NJ) clocked in at 51.72 for a second place ribbon of his own in the 100-yard freestyle.
Rookies
Stephen Fox (Freehold Twp., NJ) and Johnny Olson (Sweden,) each place second in the 100-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle respectively. Fox touched the poolside in 56.31 and Olson clocked in at 5:42.18 in his own race.
Sophomore
David Nehls (Oakland, NJ) and rookie
Nick Russomano (Cedar Knolls, NJ) finished the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.14 and 1:15.49 respectively.
The Roadrunners return to the pool on Saturday, November 8th when they host Drew University at 2:00 PM.
