FINAL GAME FOR RAMAPO IN KEAN’S FAVOR

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's soccer team wrapped up their 2008 season today with a tough, 1-0 loss to the Cougars of Kean University.  The Roadrunners wrap up the year at 7-10-2 overall, 1-6-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.  In their final game of the season, Kean wraps up the year at 7-12-1 overall, 2-7 in the conference.

With just 1:50 to play in the first half, Kean's rookie Marc Cifelli (Exxex Fells, NJ), scored what turned out to be the game winner, when he ripped a shot past senior netminder Mike Kull (Millville, NJ).  The goal was his third of the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield, NJ) blocked six shots in the first half and another five in the second, holding onto the shut out for the Cougars.

Ramapo out shot the Cougars 19-8 but were unable to capitalize on any shot, dropping their final game of the year by the lone Cougar goal.

Kull wrapped up the day with four saves and sophomore Brad Stockton (Toms River, NJ) took over with 46 minutes to play making one save of his own.

Congratulations and good luck to seniors Mike Kull, Ryan Lahey, Pedro Martinez, and manager Chris DiGirolamo.
