RUTGERS CAMDEN TOO MUCH FOR RAMAPO

Mahwah, NJ: The Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers Camden earned a 2-0 victory today over the Ramapo College men's soccer team at the Athletic Center in Mahwah to improve to 12-3-1 overall. Ramapo falls to 6-8-2 overall while slipping to 1-4-2 in the conference. Rutgers Camden stands at 4-2-1 in NJAC play.

Senior forward Andrew Dorsey (Mt. Laurel, NJ) slipped a ball past senior netminder Mike Kull (Millville, NJ) just 41 seconds into the game after a scramble in front of the net ended in Rutgers Camden's favor. The goal was Dorsey's seventh of the year and gave the Raptors a 1-0 lead. The goal stood through the end of the first half heading into the intermission, 1-0 Rutgers Camden. The Scarlet Raptors took 13 shots in the first half to Ramapo's five. Kull finished the first 45 minutes of play with four saves and Rutgers Camden's Tim VanLiew (Deptford, NJ) earned one.

In the second half of play, Jake Vollman (Stratford, NJ) gave Camden a 2-0 edge at 56:25 with an unassisted goal of his own. Kull blocked one shot in the second half and VanLiew stopped two. Both Ramapo and Camden took seven shots in the half.

Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, October 22nd when they travel to Centenary College for a non-conference match-up at 3:00 PM while the Scarlet Raptors take on Lebanon Valley College at 4:00 PM on the road.
