Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team and the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University played 110 minutes of soccer and came out tied at one goal apiece in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up at the Athletic Center in Mahwah. With the tie, the Roadrunners stand at 5-5-1 overall, 1-2-1 in the NJAC, while New Jersey City stands at 6-2-2 overall, 2-0-1 in the conference.

After a scoreless 67 minutes of soccer, senior Cristian Acuna (East Newark, NJ) ripped a shot past the Ramapo goalkeeper scoring his eighth goal of the season to give the Gothic Knights a 1-0 edge over the Roadrunners. The assist came from senior Edison Bilbao (Carteret, NJ) at 67:56. With just under eight minutes to go (82:51) in the game, sophomore transfer Jonathan Henriques (Harrison, NJ) headed a ball into the net off a cross from the right side from senior midfielder Pedro Martinez (Harrison, NJ). The two teams battled it out for the final minutes of regulation, and again for 20 minutes of overtime but senior netminder Mike Kull (Millville, NJ) and junior netminder Shawn McCormick (North Brunswick, NJ) shut down the offenses on either end of the field to wrap up the game knotted at 1-1.

Kull played the full 110 minutes for Ramapo and recorded six saves with one goal against while Andre Viola (Clifton, NJ) made an appearance in the first half making three saves, and McCormick finished the game letting up the one goal, making no saves. Ramapo posted two team saves while NJCU recorded one of their own.

The Roadrunners face off with NJAC rival Rowan University on Saturday, October 4th at 7:00 PM in Pomona, NJ while NJCU travels to TCNJ on Saturday for a 1:00 PM start.
