MORAVIAN DROPS RAMAPO, 2-1
Bethlehem, PA: Moravian won its second consecutive match and its third straight non-conference contest with a 2-1 victory over Ramapo College of New Jersey at Betty Prince Field. The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute when sophomore forward Kayla Carson put home a pass from senior forward Erica Spatz for Carson's sixth goal of the year. Moravian extended its lead to 2-0 in the 35th minute, just 55 seconds before halftime when senior forward Savannah Bayer netted her fourth goal of the season off of a pass from Carson.
The Roadrunners pulled within 2-1 in the 40th minute on a goal by
Nikki Anne Frodelly off of an assist from
Lindsay Hellwig. Moravian had a 19-11 advantage in shots and a 9-4 edge in penalty corners. Greyhound freshman goalie Maura Acox had seven saves for her fifth win of the season while Ramapo keeper
Megan Tierney had 11 saves.
The Roadrunners travel to FDU-Florham on October 5th for a 6:30 PM match-up.
