Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team posted their second win of the season today over the Bloodhounds of John Jay College earning the President's Cup championship trophy. Junior transfer Ken Hussey (Parsippany, NJ) put two in the back of the net helping to lead the Roadrunners to the 4-0 victory. Ramapo now stands at 2-0 overall while the Bloodhounds fall to 1-1.
Sophomore David Marin (Clifton, NJ) opened up the scoring at 12:35 posting what turned out to be the game winner, off a cross from rookie Jim Clementi (Medford Lakes, NJ). Sophomore Anthony Testa (Middletown, NJ) gave Ramapo a 2-0 edge at 61:24 after connecting with rookie Jon Chiles (Montclair, NJ). Hussey took over knocking in back-to-back goals, his first coming from Kenny Jimenez (Totowa, NJ) and Giuseppe Trani (Wayne, NJ), and the second off a corner kick from senior Arturo Moreira (Lodi, NJ). Hussey's goals were clocked at 84:08 and 85:33 defeating John Jay, 4-0 in a non-conference match-up.
Junior goalkeeper Mike Kull (Millville, NJ) earned his first shut out of the year blocking three shots in the full 90 minutes. Kemar Brown let up all of Ramapo's four goals recording seven saves in the loss.
Ramapo ripped 13 shots to John Jay's six while corner kicks went all Ramapo's way taking five to John Jay's zero.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, September 5th when they square off with FDU Florham at 4:00 PM.
