ROWAN OUTLASTS RAMAPO, 4-1

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo field hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision today to NJAC rival Rowan University at the Athletic Center in Mahwah.  The Roadrunners fall to 6-10 overall, 1-4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while Rowan improves to 13-4 overall, 4-1 in the conference.
 
The Profs got on the scoreboard with 25:48 left in the first half after Rachel Cheafsky (Ocean City, NJ) ripped a shot past sophomore net minder #Megan Tierney# (Wayne, NJ) taking a 1-0 lead.  The Profs ripped nine shots to Ramapo's zero in the first 45 minutes of play controlling much of the half.
 
Junior forward Amanda Greene (Thorofare, NJ) gave the Profs a 2-0 edge just over five minutes (40:48) into the second half off a cross from Susan Massara (Hammonton, NJ) posting her 13th goal of the year.  Kimberly Brozosky (Richwood, NJ) and Danielle Miranda (Flanders, NJ) each posted one of their own giving Rowan a 4-0 lead with 17 minutes left to play.  Ramapo's #Ashley Zimmerman# (North Plainfield, NJ) put Ramapo on the board at 65:31 posting an unassisted goal to close the gap, 4-1.
 
Rowan's Amanda Cucinotti (Voorhees, NJ) blocked two shots earning the 4-1 win in the NJAC match-up.  Tierney played 45:49 blocking six shots, letting up three of Rowan's four goals.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, October 31st when they host William Paterson at 4:00 PM.
