Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team played host to NJAC rival Kean University today posting a 1-0 loss to fall to 8-3 overall, 2-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference heading into next weekend's match-up with SUNY Old Westbury at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 7th. The Cougars of Kean improve to 5-2-3 overall, 2-1-2 in the conference.
In the first half of play the Cougars ripped seven shots, three on goal while the Roadrunners recorded six shots, three on goal. Kena's junior midfielder Damien Serafin (Wallington, NJ) was the lone player able to capitalize connecting with Anthony Tuesta (Clifton, NJ) at 21:05 taking a 1-0 Cougar lead. The Cougars held onto the one goal edge at the halftime buzzer behind Kyle Crego's (Ocean City, NJ) three saves.
In the final 45 minutes of play, Ramapo received a red card and played 26 minutes short a man, unable to fight back falling short 1-0. The Cougars posted two second half shots to the Roadrunners' five.
