Pomona, NJ:  Richard Stockton (4-3, 1-0 NJAC) shut out Ramapo (3-4, 1-0 NJAC) 1-0 in the NJAC field hockey opener for both teams today.  Alison Capelli (Mt. Holly/Rancocas Valley) scored the game-winning goal and goalkeeper Caitlin Nolan (Riverside/Holy Cross) made two saves for her second shutout of the season. Ramapo goalie Jenna Feminello (Clark/A. L. Johnson) registered four saves for the Roadrunners.

The teams played a scoreless first half in which Ramapo outshot Stockton 5-3 but neither team mounted any serious offensive threats. Stockton took control of the game in the second half, culminating in the goal by Capelli assisted by Dana Meyers (Upper Deerfield/Cumberland) at the 43:36 mark. The Ospreys held advantages of 7-1 in shots and 4-1 in penalty corners during the second stanza on their way to the 1-0 victory.

Stockton will host Widener in a non-league game on Thursday, September 28 at 4 pm. Ramapo will be back in action tomorrow with an 11:30 am game against Mount St. Vincent at Don Bosco Prep.
