RAMAPO BASEBALL SHUTS OUT MT. ST. VINCENT, 6-0 BEHIND SENIOR AARON EYLER

Mahwah , NJ : The Ramapo College baseball team shut out the Dolphins of Mt. St. Vincent, 6-0 today at Jeff Maund Field on the campus of Ramapo College improving to 9-5 overall. Mt. St. Vincent falls to 2-5.

Senior AARON EYLER (Edison, NJ ) hit a perfect 3-3 recording two RBI and one run driving in what turned out to be the winning run in the bottom of the 1st. EYLER ripped a two run single in the inning bringing home sophomore CHRIS SORIA (Aberdeen, NJ ) and rookie NICK SBARRA (Washington Twp., NJ) who doubled and reached on an error to lead off. The Roadrunners added three more runs in the 4th when EYLER singled to left, stole second and was driven home by junior BRAD SZATKIEWICZ (Branchville, NJ) to take a 3-0 lead. STEVE SANTORELLA (Redding, CT) doubled to right field scoring SZATKIEWICZ and SANTORELLA gave the Roadrunners a 5-0 lead off a RBI single to left by rookie ANTHONY ANDRADE (Bloomfield, NJ). Ramapo recorded their final run of the game in the bottom of the 5th when senior DOUG ADAY (Dallas, TX ) drove in SBARRA who singled to lead off the inning.

Rookie RYAN HOURIHAN (Wayne, NJ ) earned the win improving to 2-0 pitching five full innings, striking out two and walking two, letting up four hits in the game. JOSEPH COPPAGE (Goldvein, VA ), ANGEL NAVARRETE (South Plainfield, NJ ), EJ SULLIVAN (Livingston, NJ ), and FLORIAN WOUTERS (Ramsey, NJ ) each pitched an inning combining for four strikeouts, letting up only one hit in the final four.

The Roadrunners will travel to Montclair tomorrow, April 7th for a 3:30 PM start.
