Mahwah , NJ : The Ramapo College field hockey team posted their sixth win of the season shutting out the Ducks of Stevens Institute, 5-0 in Mahwah. The Roadrunners improve to 6-6 overall while Stevens falls to 0-11.
Rookie JACQUELYN GAROFALO (Middletown, NJ ) recorded what turned out to be the game winner just over four minutes into the game when she connected with a cross from MEREDITH GRIBBEN (Pequannock, NJ ) on a penalty corner. ASHLEY BROWNE (Tinton Falls, NJ ) gave the Roadrunners a 2-0 edge at 29:44, unassisted, while GAROFALO added her second of the game just before the end of the half, 33:49, pushing the Roadrunners, 3-0 over the Ducks.
In the last 35 minutes of play, LINDSAY HELLWIG (Budd Lake, NJ ) took a cross from GAROFALO and hit the back of the cage at 43:57 and GAROFALO added her second assist at 63:57 when she connected with rookie DEVIN FLYNN (Mullicattill, NJ ) dropping Stevens, 5-0.
Sophomore KATELYN FERGUSON (Sussex, NJ) posted one save in 70:00 minutes while Katherine Freed (Rutherford, NJ ) recorded 22 in the loss.
The Roadrunners will travel to Rowan on Saturday, October 16th at 7:00 PM returning to NJAC action.
