Mahwah, NJ: Ramapo baseball improved to 10-4-1 overall today at the Athletic Center with a 12-1 victory over Lehman College. Lehman falls to 3-7 overall.
Ramapo jump started the game in the 1st inning posting four runs on four hits with no errors. AARON EYLER (Edison, NJ) hit a lead off double, DOUG ADAY (Dallas, TX) hit a RBI double, and BRAD SZATKIEWICZ (Branchville, NJ) hit a RBI single giving Ramapo a 2-0 lead. DAVE WINANS (Hillsborough, NJ) followed with a RBI single while MARK MALYSO (Saddle Brook, NJ) hit a sac fly to right field scoring SZATKIEWICZ. Ramapo recorded four more runs in the second with EYLER crossing home plate on a wild pitch and WINANS driving in RAMON DIAZ (Bronx, NY) who walked to get on base. Catcher MIKE JAKUPCIONIS (Edison, NJ) posted a two run double scoring WINANS and SZATKIEWICZ taking an 8-0 lead over Lehman. Ramapo posted 12 runs on 13 hits in the game.
Ramapo was led by SZATKIEWICZ hitting 3-4 with three runs and one RBI while EYLER posted two hits with three runs. WINANS posted two hits on five at bats with one run and two RBI while MALYSO went 2-4 and ADAY hit 1-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Sophomore JOSH EPSTEIN (Beachwood, NJ) recorded his first win of the season posting two strikeouts and one walk facing ten batters in three innings. BENJAMIN MAZZA (Harrison, NJ) and MARCO CABAN (Bronx, NY) each added two strikeouts while MIKE LEIGHTON (Hillsdale, NJ) added one of his own.
For Lehman, Jason Whitfield (Meadow Creek, GA) posted one of the only two hits let up by Ramapo. Whitfield posted a triple scoring one run while Adalberto Rodriguez (Bronx, NY) went 1-3 with one RBI.
The Roadrunners will travel to St Joe's Patchogue tomorrow at 3:00 PM.
