Men's Soccer

1st ROUND OF NJAC DECIDED WITH PKs

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team played host to the Cougars of Kean University today at the Athletic Center in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament. #4 seeded Ramapo College and #5 seeded Kean University ended 110 minutes tied at 2-2. Kean will advance to play #1 seeded Stockton College after posting seven penalty kicks to Ramapo's six. Ramapo stands at 12-3-3 while Kean improves their overall record to 10-6-4.

At the end of the first half, Ramapo led 1-0 after rookie JOSH TAYLOR (Hackensack, NJ) hit the back of the net off a cross from junior MATT CHESTER (Hamilton, NJ) 17 minutes into the game. The Roadrunners took a two-goal lead at 66:57 when another cross from CHESTER was ripped by rookie JAMIE BIWALD (Stratford, NJ). Just under ten minutes later, Marc Fay (Howell, NJ) connected with Demont Heard (Princeton, NJ) bringing Kean within one. Fay then tied the game at 82:42 during a scramble in the box.

After a scoreless overtime, the winner was decided with penalty kicks, 7-6 in favor of Kean.
