PIONEERS TOP ROADRUNNERS, 5-2 IN NJAC COMPETITION

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College Roadrunners fell short to the Pioneers of William Paterson University, 5-2 at Jeff Maund Field. The Roadrunners now stand at 10-10 overall, 3-4 NJAC while the Pioneers improve to 14-7 overall, 4-3 NJAC.

The Pioneers took an early 1st inning lead when Bryan Graham (Medford, NJ) and Ryan Stanek (Berkeley Heights, NJ) both scored on errors. Graham walked and Stanek singled to get on base. William Paterson scored once again in the 5th off a RBI single by Graham which drove in Jason Tiseo (Bloomfield, NJ) who doubled to get on base. The Pioneers added one more in the 7th and another in the 8th to take a 5-0 lead over the Roadrunners.

Rookie DOUG ADAY (Dallas, TX) drove in two runs in the 8th after DAVE KOLZE (River Edge, NJ) and AARON EYLER (Edison, NJ) reached on an error and singled to get on base respectively.

Graham hit 1-3 with one run scored and one RBI while Stanek went 1-2 with one run scored. Tiseo also crossed home plate for the pioneers hitting 1-4. Dan Singer (Ridgefield Park, NJ) earned the win with four strikeouts and one walk in 7 1/3 innings. Singer improves to 2-0.

EYLER went 2-4 with one run while ADAY hit 1-4 with two RBI. Rookie CHRIS RENNA (Brooklyn, NY) recorded the loss and now stands at 2-3. RENNA posted three strikeouts and four walks for the day.

The Roadrunners will host Dominican tomorrow at 3:30 PM
