Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team faced Rutgers Newark today at Jeff Maund Field and lost 12-1. The team's record fell to 12-13 overall and 3-6 in the NJAC, while the Scarlet Raiders improve to 13-16 overall and 5-6 in the conference.

Rutgers Newark began the scoring in the 2nd inning off a 2 run RBI double by Darrell Quazza (Wayne, NJ). In the 5th Ady Acevedo (Elizabeth, NJ) singled to score Quazza and Jamall Angoy (Irvington, NJ). Acevedo came around to score on a sacrifice fly to centerfield and the Scarlet Raiders never looked back scoring one more in the 5th and two more in the 7th, 8th, and 9th dropping the Roadrunners 12-1.

Quazza hit 2 for 5 with two runs scored and 2 RBI, while Brian Trapani (Bridgewater, NJ) went 2 for 4 with one RBI and two runs.

CHRIS NISKOCH (Edison, NJ) scored the lone run for Ramapo hitting 1 for 3 on the day. SHAUN BURSTEIN (Beachwood, NJ) went 1 for 4 with one RBI.

Jesus Torres (Hammonton, NJ) earned the win letting up three hits and one run, striking out six and walking five in nine innings pitched. CHRISTOPHER RENNA (Brooklyn, NY) recorded the loss striking out four and walking one in 4 2/3 innings.

The Roadrunners will travel to Kean University on Friday, April 19th at 3:30 PM.
