Martinez becomes the third different Roadrunner to earn NJAC Player of the Week honors after leading Ramapo to its first NJAC Championship since 1984. He batted .556 (10-for-18) with three RBI, two doubles and four runs scored in the tournament. That includes a 3-for-5 performance with a double, RBI and stolen base in the championship game. He also went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI in the squad’s lone loss of the tournament. He recorded a .600 on-base percentage and .667 slugging percentage on the week. Martinez hit safely in each of the Roadrunners’ five tournament games, helping the team go 4-1 en route to the title including two wins on the final day of competition. Martinez also earned D3baseball.com Team of the week for outfield.
