Smith earns his first NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after posting three NJAC top-three times at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational last weekend. He clocked an NJAC-best 4:16.28 in the 400 IM to place fourth overall at the meet. His 200 butterfly time of 1:57.37 placed him third at the meet and was the second-best (and top rookie) time of the season in the conference. He added a 1:59.47 in the 200 IM to finish first in the B-final (9th overall); the time ranks third among all NJAC swimmers and first among league rookies. He also swam the third leg in two relays, helping the 400 medley to an NJAC-best time of 3:29.94 and the 200 medley to a time of 1:38.20.
