Begen earns NJAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors after competing at both the Penn Relays and the Lions Invitational, hosted by TCNJ. He placed third in a field of 36 competitors in the javelin throw, registering an ECAC qualifying and personal-best mark of 57.73. Begen also placed fourth in the hammer throw in a field of 25 competitors, recording a mark of 43.48. He also took home a third-place showing in a field of 58 competitors in the discus, producing a throw up 46.48, while placing sixth out of 48 competitors in the shot put with a mark of 13.82. The performance by Begen in the javelin currently leads the NJAC and ranks tied for 24th nationally in Division III this season.
