Merle earns NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors after earning back-to-back NJAC victories in relief appearances this week for the Roadrunners. She opened the week by getting the final three outs (all strikeouts) during an 11-7 win over Stevens in game one of a double-header series. She then put in 3.0 innings of work, allowing five hits, three earned runs, and striking out two during an 7-5 victory in game two at Stevens. Two days later, she held William Paterson hitless in the final three innings during a 4-3 victory in game one over the Pioneers. She wrapped up the week by putting in 6.0 innings of relief, allowing just one hit, two walks, and struck out three batters as the Roadrunners came back to win 6-3 in the eighth inning over Rutgers-Newark. Merle currently ranks third in the NJAC in games finished this season (5).
