Glassboro, NJ: The Profs of Rowan University shutout the Ramapo College softball team today 12-0 ending the Roadrunners run in the 2016 NJAC Softball Tournament. The #1 Profs improve to 34-8 overall while the #4 Roadrunners wrap up the 2016 season with a 21-15 record.
Rowan took a quick 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Ashley DeYoung smacked a two RBI single to center field plating Shilah Snead and Mia Baldassari. The Profs scored four more runs in the inning extending their lead 6-0. Morgan Smith scored on a wild pitch before Damariz Mercado singled home a run and Snead laced a double down the right field line plating the final two runs of the inning.
The Profs would tack on five more runs in the fifth to go up 12-0 and they held the Roadrunners in the bottom half of the inning to earn the run rule victory. Rowan starting pitcher Beth Ann Hayland (20-4) earned her 20
th win of the season firing a one hitter over four innings of work, she struck out four and did not walk a batter. Allison Nolan pitched the final inning, as she did not surrender a hit while she struck out one and walked one.

Katrina Buczkowski (9-7) took the loss surrendering four hits and four runs.
Christina Brizek came in for relief and worked four innings. She struck out three, walked four and let up seven hits and eight runs (three earned).
Melissa Moreno recorded the lone hit for Ramapo.
