Springfield, Mass: The Ramapo College men's track and field team placed 9th overall out of 47 teams at the 2010 ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Led by
Jermaine Boyd (Hackensack, NJ), the team earned 30 points and defeated all NJAC opponents who competed which included rivals Richard Stockton, Rutgers Newark, and Rutgers Camden.
Boyd placed 1st overall in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.78, which is an NCAA Provisional time, before earning 5th place in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 54.03, another NCAA Provisional mark and also a school record.
Valdir Mondesir (Montclair, NJ) also earned a 1st place ribbon. Mondesir hit a mark of 2.01 meters (6'7") in the high jump.
Dillon Rodgers (Bogota, NJ) and
Brendan Gareffa (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) rounded out the top performers placing 6th overall in the javelin, and 7th overall in the discus respectively. Rodgers threw 57.40 meters (188'04") in the javelin event while Gareffa hit 46.65 meters (153'01") in the discus.
The Roadrunners return next week when they travel to the Lions Last Chance Qualifier in Ewing, NJ at the College of New Jersey on May 20th.
