Coach Concetta Valerio is in her first year at the helm of the Ramapo College field hockey and lacrosse teams. She is a 2006 graduate of Kean University where she earned a degree in Biology with a certification in education. Coach Valerio attended Kean on a Presidential Scholarship and was a scholar athlete in 2005 and 2006.
A four-year starter on the Lady Cougars field hockey team, Coach Valerio holds the school record for most wins in a season (15), most career shut outs (24), and most career wins (50). In 2004, Valerio helped lead the Cougars to 14 wins and a post-season appearance in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship Tournament.
While a member of the Kean field hockey team, Coach Valerio received awards such as STX/NFHCA South Atlantic Region Second-Team (2004) and NJAC Rookie of the Week and NJAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Coach Valerio was also a four-year starter for the women’s lacrosse program being honored as a Knickerbocker Women’s Lacrosse Conference First-Team All-Star in 2005 and 2006.
Coach Valerio received the highest award presented by the Kean University Athletic Department, being named the Female D’Angola Award Winner in 2006.
Coach Valerio has also worked at the Holly Shores Field Hockey Academy in Marlton, New Jersey the past five summers, as well as Elite Challenge Invitational in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
