Wilkes-Barre, PA: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team split a pair of games on the road this afternoon as they moved to 16-9 overall. The Roadrunners defeated Drew University, 3-1 (25-21, 26-24, 18-25, 25-14) before falling to host Wilkes University, 1-3 (25-12, 22-25, 27-29, 21-25).
In the win against Drew,
Asya Akar led the Roadrunners with 14 kills, 15 digs, three solo blocks and one ace.
Valentina Palen posted ten kills and nine digs while
Katie Bishop posted five kills, 32 assists, three aces and 12 digs.
Emma Garcia collected 15 digs and two assists in the match. Ramapo collected 43 total kills on 151 attempts with 18 errors.
In the tough four-set loss to Wilkes,
Jasmine Rolle, Akar and Palen each tallied nine kills while Rolle added three solo blocks. Akar posted 11 digs and six aces while Palen collected one block, five aces and one assist. Garcia collected a team high 23 digs while
Wendy Palaguachi posted 13 of her own in the match. Bishop tallied 30 assists, two kills, one solo block and ten digs. The team collected 44 kills on 159 attempts with 30 errors in the match.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 4th when they travel to Stockton University for a NJAC match at 7:00 PM.
