Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team wrapped up the 2012-2013 season standing at 12-5 overall, and 4-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, finishing in 3rd in conference standings.
The Lady Roadrunners opened the season with three straight wins in the Fall, 5-4 over William Paterson, 6-3 over Rutgers Camden, and 9-0 over Rutgers Newark. Their first loss of the year came at the hands of the College of New Jersey, who has won the conference championship every season dating back to 1982. Moving forward, the Roadrunners went 1-2 in their next three match-ups, before taking home six-straight victories. The Roadrunners defeated John Jay, 9-0, Kean University, 5-1 (called for darkness), Bard, 6-3, and NYU-Poly, 9-0, before heading to Hilton Head, South Carolina in mid-March. Ramapo kept on their winnings ways posting victories over Frostburg State, 8-1 and Roosevelt University, 9-0. They wrapped up their Spring tour falling short to Graceland and Edinboro. Back in New Jersey, the Lady Roadrunners completed the season with wins over the College of Staten Island, 9-0 and Georgian Court, 5-4.
Senior
Hayley Downing finished her senior season going 7-8 at first singles.
Sara Luby recorded an 11-3 record at second singles, and
Stephanie Abrecht went 11-1 at third singles.
Micala Demchak and Luby led the way in doubles action going 9-1 at second doubles, and Abrecht and
Ivy Schuckman posted an 8-1 doubles record in the third position.
