MEN'S TENNIS SEASON IN REVIEW

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's tennis team found a home this season with the Great Northeast Atlantic Conference, and they brought home the championship title.

Led by an 11-1 season performance from junior Justin Gerstl, the Roadrunners claimed the 2013 GNAC Championship title, after only joining the conference for the first time this season.  Ramapo finished the season at 8-6 overall.

The team opened the year in Hilton Head, South Carolina, where they posted a .500 record of 2-2, defeating Frostburg State and Roosevelt University, 9-0, while falling just short to Endicott College and Edinboro University, 6-3, and 7-2 respectively.  Back in New Jersey, Ramapo fell to Mount St. Mary College, 6-3 on March 27th, before recording an 8-1 victory over Hunter College, just three days later, sparking a five match win-streak.   The team earned wins over Rutgers Camden, Rutgers Newark, York College, and Bard.  After three straight tough matches, the Roadrunners traveled to Weymouth, Massachusetts, where they defeated Suffolk University, 5-4, for the 2013 GNAC Championship Title.

Gerstl went 10-1 at first singles while combining efforts with Evan Clayton at first doubles, going 5-0 on the year.  Jacob Khodakov recorded an 11-0 singles record in the third position, and Clayton went 8-2 at second singles, while Khodakov and Matt Giuliari went 3-0 in doubles action in the second doubles spot.

Head Coach Raza Baig returns all but two to the 2014 roster.  Congratulations and good luck to seniors Matt Giuliari and Jacob Wyble.
